Wash jars, lids and bands in hot soapy water then rinse well. You might want to keep the jars warm until they're ready to be used to prevent jar breakage. You can heat them in a pot of simmering water or a heated dishwasher. Next, fill you stockpot with water and heat to a simmer.
Create your recipe
Prepare a flavor packed canning recipe from the booklet provided. Fill each jar with food, following the canning recipe for the correct fill level. Now remove air bubbles by sliding a spatula between the jar and the food gently pressing back. Wipe food from the rim of the jar and center a lid on the jar. Then, twist the band until fingertip tight.
Preserve Your Foods
Place jars into rack then lower into stockpot ensuring jars are covered by one inch of water; heating boiled jars for the time specified in the recipe, adjusting for altitude.
