David Proctor - Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

David joined Friedman’s in 1985 as Controller, was promoted to Chief Financial Officer shortly thereafter, in 2000 was named Executive Vice President. During his tenure David has helped the company triple in size, creating financial stability during changes of ownership. Upon joining Friedman’s, one of his major challenges was implementing a fully integrated enterprise information system. His strongest contributions have been the balancing of corporate ownership interests, automating the business processes, and supporting the development of a comprehensive Human Resources department emphasizing an employee-oriented value-system. Prior to his employment with Friedman’s, David worked for a major international public accounting firm as a CPA in San Francisco.

A fourth-generation Santa Rosan, David graduated from Montgomery High School in 1970. He continued his education at UC Davis earning a BS in Biochemistry and Psychology in 1974. In 1979, he completed simultaneous graduate studies in Public Administration at Golden Gate University, and Business Administration at Sonoma State University.
