Best Practices
- Waste Reduction
- Increased recycling efforts – added 168 recycling containers to all store locations
- Compost at company BBQ’s
- Using copy paper with 30% Post Consumer Waste recycled content
Water Reduction
- Installed a Bioswale in Sonoma Parking Lot, designed to remove pollution from surface runoff water
- Water fixtures replaced with low-flow fixtures during Sonoma remodel
- Drought tolerant plants and drip irrigation used in landscaping all locations, including distribution center
Energy Reduction
- Replaced Santa Rosa and Sonoma stores with T-8 low wattage tubes
- Reduction of store lighting during off peak hours
Green House Gas Emissions Reduction
- Alldelivery vehicles run on bio-diesel fuel
- A hybrid vehicle is used for inter-store travel and employees are strongly encourages to carpool whenever possible
