AUTOMATED LICENSE PLATE RECOGNITION (ALPR) USE AND PRIVACY POLICY

Friedman's Home Improvement

Friedman’s Home Improvement may utilize Automated License Plate Recognition (“ALPR”) technology where permitted by applicable law and consistent with our Privacy Policy For purposes of this policy:

  • “ALPR Systems” refers to a system that uses fixed or mobile cameras, along with software, to capture images of license plates and convert those images into searchable, computer-readable data.
  • “ALPR Data” means any information collected through an ALPR System.
We use ALPR Data for legitimate business purposes such as security, fraud detection, and protection of company assets (collectively, “Authorized Uses”).

Access to ALPR Systems and ALPR Data is restricted to designated Friedman’s Home Improvement Team Members and approved service providers who require such access to perform their job duties, including individuals in security, asset protection, information technology, and legal functions (“Authorized Users”). These individuals receive training on proper handling and use of ALPR Systems and data, including compliance with applicable privacy and data protection laws. Oversight of this policy is managed by designated asset protection personnel.

We maintain safeguards designed to protect ALPR Data and routinely review system access logs to help ensure proper use and compliance with legal requirements.

We do not sell ALPR Data. We also do not disclose or grant access to ALPR Systems to third parties outside our organization except under limited circumstances, including:

  • To vendors or service providers performing services on our behalf, who are contractually required to safeguard the data. In some cases, de-identified and aggregated data may be used to improve their services;
  • When necessary to help protect the safety and security of customers, Friedman Team Members, and others;
  • To safeguard our legal rights, property, or operations, as well as those of others;
  • To comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes, including cooperation with law enforcement; or
  • To meet other legal obligations.
To promote data accuracy, Authorized Users may periodically review and compare captured license plate images with system-generated data.
We retain ALPR Data only for as long as needed to fulfill the Authorized Uses described above. Data is routinely deleted or destroyed when it is no longer required, unless retention is necessary to comply with legal obligations or ongoing investigations.
